How the pace works

Two classes a week — never a wall of forty-eight

Two new classes unlock every week, so there’s always one clear next step. Small enough that you never dread the next one; structured enough that you actually finish. Every class you’ve unlocked stays open to revisit.

What you’ll make

Ten finished things, not ten swatches

Every project uses only what you’ve been taught by that week, and its full written pattern is inside that week’s PDF. Quick mini makes, like a keychain and a crochet heart, fill the early weeks too.

What’s in every week

One clear PDF a week, written so you can follow it alone

Each week arrives as an illustrated PDF in your language, with everything for that week’s two classes in one place.

The week at a glance

  • A short plan for the week, day by day, so you know what to do and when.
  • A kit list, plus a “shopping for next week” box before you need anything new.
  • Two classes, worked through step by step.

Every technique, shown

  • Numbered step drawings for each new hand movement.
  • “Just right” and “wrong” comparisons where it helps you spot a problem.
  • A video link under every step, so you can watch the movement as well as read it.

Practice that sticks

  • Homework that only uses what you’ve learned so far, with answers at the back.
  • Troubleshooting for the mistakes people really make, and an end-of-week checklist.
  • Words & abbreviations: every new term from the week, explained.

Made for every maker

  • A crochet corner every week, so crochet keeps pace with knitting.
  • Left-handed notes wherever a new hand technique appears.
  • UK terms first, US terms in brackets, so any pattern makes sense.
  • Nine languages: English, Deutsch, Dansk, Español, Français, Nederlands, Norsk, Svenska and Italiano.

Questions people ask first

I’ve never held knitting needles. Is this too advanced?

No. Week one begins with reading a ball band, the slip knot and casting on. Nothing before that is assumed, and each later class builds only on what earlier classes covered.

Do I have to choose knitting or crochet?

No — both are taught every month, side by side, and there’s a crochet corner in every week. Follow one, or do both; you can start with one and pick up the other whenever you’re ready.

How are the classes delivered?

Each week comes as an illustrated PDF containing that week’s two classes: numbered step drawings, a video link under every step, homework with answers, troubleshooting and a glossary. You work through them at home, at whatever time of day suits you.

How much time does it take each week?

About 20–30 minutes a day suits most people in the early weeks. Project weeks take longer, and you can spread the work out — unlocked classes stay available.

What supplies do I need to start?

A ball of Aran-weight (US worsted) yarn, 5 mm needles, a 5 mm crochet hook, scissors and a tapestry needle. Week one’s PDF has the full kit list, and each week tells you in advance if you’ll need anything new.

Which languages is the course available in?

English, Deutsch, Dansk, Español, Français, Nederlands, Norsk, Svenska and Italiano. Every weekly PDF exists in all nine.

How do I get help if I’m stuck?

Email hello@loopandpurl.com. Tell us which week and step you’re on and attach a photo of your knitting or crochet — you’ll hear back within 1–2 hours. Help is by email only.

Can I go faster or slower than the schedule?

Two new classes unlock each week, so you can’t jump ahead — but you can revisit any unlocked class as often as you like, and take a break by cancelling and rejoining later.

What happens after six months?

Billing stops after the sixth payment. You keep every class you unlocked, including the project patterns.

What’s your refund policy?

A full refund within 14 days of your first payment, no questions asked. After that, cancel anytime to stop future payments. The details are in our Terms.
